Girl Hexagons

My sister made this darling hexagon quilt.
The fabric is 'Good Fortune' by Kate Spain for Moda
I quilted an all over tight stipple pattern.
I love the middle fabric on the backing. Such cute purple flowers.

Pink and Green Coin Quilt

One lucky little baby girl is getting this quilt.
A friend of mine went in on this quilt together.
We both cut out the squares,
She sewed the top together,
and I basted, quilted and binded the quilt.
All the fabrics were scraps.
I put a fun minky print for the backing.
My friend always puts a label on her quilts using fabric paper.
I loved doing this, so simple, so easy, and I love that it personalizes the quilt.
I want to try this method using freezer paper.

Beautiful Quilting

My sister made this Adorable quilt, and had her local quilter quilt it.
I had to take pictures of the quilting, so I could remember.
I want to start doing some "custom" quilting rather then an all over quilting pattern.

Baby Squares

This quilt is made up of a Moda; Soiree charm pack.
I cute up each 5" square into fourths = 2.5" squares.
I glued them in place, and then sewed them on top of my basted quilt top.
The back is a soft pink minky.

Baby Hourglass

I made this adorable Yellow and Pink Hourglass quilt for my sisters baby.
I used 5" squares for the blocks.
I quilted it with an all over loopty loop.
The backing is a soft and super cute minky fabric.
And I did another fabric paper label.
It was hard to give this one away, because I think it turned out pretty darn cute.

Jammies

Warm weather came fast this spring for us.
We needed to switch out our winter jammies for some summer ones.
A set for my little guy and little girl.
I used scraps to applique on the undershirts for the tops,
and the bottoms are just a basic pants pattern.
My kids love them.

Happy Pinwheels

I helped my Mom make her first quilt with a couple of charm packs from American Jane's,  "Punctuation". Which we picked up at an annual quilt fair in our county.

My Mom put all the pinwheels together, added the borders and did the binding with some help from me.  She insisted that I quilt it.  She said she wanted my expertise quilting on this happy quilt, not her rookie quilting. Apparently it was too big for her "first"quilt to quilt. (even though she has quilted a few table runners).

Next time I will encourage Mom to quilt her own.
Both of us are so happy with how it turned out.

She repurposed a vintage sheet for the backing.
I was pleasantly surprised at how well it washed up and crinkled up.
