Quilting the TeePees

I think these triangle blocks look like teepees.
I love me some American Jane Fabrics.
My dear friend made this quilt top.
And I quilted it for her.
I did an all over stipple pattern.
The backing is a solid navy blue minky.
(thankgoodness there was not puckering. This backing is not forgiving of mistakes)

Pow Wow Twin

Here is my Twin version of the Baby Pow Wow I posted awhile back.
I really loooove this quilt.
I made this one for my 4yr olds bed.
There are some pretty cute prints in the quilt.
I quilted a meandering circle pattern.
I didnt want to do a basic pebble quilting, and wanted more circles like bubbles.
So this is what I came up with.
There is a combination of the green and orange minky plaid pattern on the back.
I made the outside white borders a little bit larger then the pattern suggested.
Total size is 72 X 93

Beautiful Quilting

My sister made this Adorable quilt, and had her local quilter quilt it.
I had to take pictures of the quilting, so I could remember.
I want to start doing some "custom" quilting rather then an all over quilting pattern.

My January Quilt

This is another Cluck Cluck Sew inspired quilt.
I still have to quilt, baste, and bind.
But being January, its the perfect time to
share a sneak peak.
I used 4 charm packs of Moda's Fandango
This is one of the few quilts I have done with no white.

Vintage Valentines; Progress

I went with a nine patch, to separate the images.
I just need to add a border, baste, and quilt, then bind.
(much easier said then done.)

Color Blind Test

Thats what this quilt reminds my mom of. I thought Camilles quilt like this was simply adorable, and I of course had to have one just like it. I love this pattern, and saw it in a few different fabrics, but couldnt settle down on a fabric line. So I ended up going with Cotton Blossoms just like Camilles. Although I have a few things that are different. (figuring out a "random" order for those circles is crazy making!) Here is how it turned out. (with out ric rac added) and this dear flower... its petals reminds me of wooden spoons! not sure thats a good thing, but hey I love it anyway.

Christmas Blocks Complete

These were lots of fun to make! I am definitely going to use this pattern again. And since I have a few extra stripes cut, I am going to keep on making them. A few extra for me wont hurt. right? (sorry some of the blocks got cut off, I dont have my right lens on my camera...) I'm excited to get these in the mail to their new homes!
It will be fun to see what will be done with them.
I hope my partners will love them.

Simply Amazing

I finished my Hexagons! I think this quilt has been the most time consuming of all the ones I have done soo far, but I love it, so it was well worth the time. And I am going to like it even more when its 100% completed. I had to take advantage of the sun, and take some pictures that looked like stain glass windows. Thanks Shawn for the idea! Soooo cool.

I got a red/white polka dot pottery barn sheet for the back, but the white doesn't really complement the quilt like I had planned. Do you think tea dying the sheet would work, so it would match these fabrics better?? have you ever tea dyed?

Still trying to figure out my backing fabric.

Any suggestions??

Strips into Stacks

I started by sewing jellyroll stripes together, then I cut them into triangles. I looove taping my template on the backside of my rulers. If you haven't tried it, you definitely should! I have sooo many triangles! Now I have to sew them together to make half hexagons.

went with what I had first planned

I had purchased both border fabrics. I sewed on the smaller border, and loved it. I even debated weather I should even had added another border. Then I laid out the thicker border fabric, and didn't quite "love" it. I was wishing I had purchased one of the green/yellowish colors for the thicker border. I almost bought some more fabric to change the thicker border. BUT then I tell myself, that this is the fabric that I got for the border, so use it!!! ... and I did. Do you love it?? Now I just need to baste, and quilt!!!

Table Runners

This last weekend I went to a family reunion. For the reunion, we all bring a few things to raffle off. The proceeds go for next years reunion. This year I made a festive table runner. And since I was making one, my mom insisted that I make her one as well. Lucky mom. These whipped up pretty fast. And I am extremely happy with the results. My mom put hers on the back of her couch, and it looks great. I love that there are different ways you can use a table runner. I did some more star stippling. I love how it turned out. Stars are sooo much fun! and luckily the winner of my table runner at the reunion was my Grandma. She only put in one ticket. (I put all my tickets in). Lucky Grandma! I am thrilled that she won it, because I know how much she loved it and how much she appreciates it.
