Pow Wow Twin

Here is my Twin version of the Baby Pow Wow I posted awhile back.
I really loooove this quilt.
I made this one for my 4yr olds bed.
There are some pretty cute prints in the quilt.
I quilted a meandering circle pattern.
I didnt want to do a basic pebble quilting, and wanted more circles like bubbles.
So this is what I came up with.
There is a combination of the green and orange minky plaid pattern on the back.
I made the outside white borders a little bit larger then the pattern suggested.
Total size is 72 X 93

Bloggers Quilt Festival; Two Color Quilt

Thanks for stopping by from the
I love the new changes and categories!
I entered this quilt into the 'Two Color Quilts' group.
Purple and Teal
Purple is a difficult color to find at the quilt shops!
Luckily I was able to find a few.
I made this quilt for my brand new niece back in September 2012.
I wanted to do a timeless and classic pattern with colors to match the nursery.
I did an all over loopy loo stipple, and a soft minky gingham pattern on the back.
And here is the cute label I put on the back.
I printed it on my computer using white fabric and freezer paper.

Bloggers Quilt Festival - Home Machine Quilted

Welcome, if your stopping by for the first time from the Bloggers Quilt Festival.
This quilt is making its first debut on my blog.
The fabric is a variety of 30s prints from a few years ago.
Here is the timeline breakdown;
I purchased, and cut the fabric into 6" squares back in 2009.
I sewed the squares into hourglass blocks the Spring of 2012.
I sewed the rows and columns, basted, quilted and binded this Spring 2013.
What a WIP!
The block is your basic hourglass block.
Im entering this quilt under the "Home Machine Quilted Quilts" category.
I quilted this on my Juki TL98 Q
I think the quilting brings the quilt to life, and matches the fabric.
 (does that make sense?)
I love how the curves make the hourlgass block pop.
I love how simple and easy this quilting pattern is.
I also love the overall delicate flower pattern that appears on the back.
Here's a upclose picture of the quilting
I continued the pattern onto the white sashing and border.

Here's a picture of the overall flower pattern that is easier to see on the back of the quilt.
Simply beautiful.
Here are some more up close pictures of the quilting.

Quilt measures 76 X 90
I was inspired by 'RedPepperQuilt; hourglass quilt'
(soo wish I had hers. Its perfect in everyway!)
and my quilting inspiration came from 'thegirlwhoquilts' ; tutorial here.
I fell in love with her "orange peel" quilting look, and had to try it. (so glad I did!)

Baby Stars

A few years back, I taught a friend of mine to quilt.
That friend of mine, just had her first baby.
A beautiful baby girl.
This quilt is for her.
For my Inspiration...
I used this picture for the colors (plus some orange) from here
and this quilt pattern (which I loooove), from here
And here is the quilt.
I attempted orange peel quilting.
It took a few rows to get use to, but I love the look. So fun.
I backed it with a snuggly flower print minky.
I used 5 X 6 1/2" squares for each star.
The total quilt size is 49X55
I love this quilt. I would love a twin size version for my little miss's bed.

Baby Pow Wow

I love this pattern.
It is one of Cluck Cluck Sews; found here.
I made this baby boy quilt for some very special friends first baby.
I quilted an all over stipple pattern.
And put soft minky on the back.
At the same time I also pieced enough blocks to make a twin size version of this quilt. I was over my head in pow wow blocks.
Final size 47 X 52
Perfect Boy quilt. (in my opinion)
